Hi there and welcome to Ado's Blog. I am obsessed with nostalgia, especially 1960s & 1970s nostalgia and I enjoy nothing more than reflecting on days and times that have sadly long since gone! So join me, as I take a nostalgic gander down Memory Lane and celebrate all things past and occasional present, both good and bad! Fats Domino in the UK (1967)
Back in 1967 Brian Epstein brought Fats Domino across from the good old USA for what would be his first UK appearance. For 6 nights from the 27th March Fats appeared with Gerry & The Pacemakers and the Bee Gees at the Saville in London. In April they moved up to Manchester and appeared at the Palace.
The opening act (The Bee Gees) were newly arrived in this country and played rock & roll classics such as Dizzy Miss Lizzy. The whole of the second half was just Fats and his nine piece band.
