Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Episode Nineteen: A Sentimental Journey

A reluctant Jeff agrees to take a valuable item worth £10,000 from Glasgow to London on the overnight express. When the consignment turns out to be an attractive blond, Jeff initially concedes that the assignment is to his liking. However whilst on the train Randall becomes gradually suspicious that the girl was being held and is being traded although it seems curious to him that she appears to be very able to take care of herself. On the train Randall knows he is being watched and later that night the carriage of the girl is raided by one of the watchers. However it turns out that he is police officer sent to monitor them keeping in contact later.

Randall delivers the girl in return for a receipt but learns that one of the bosses henchmen is a traitor allowing the girl to escape, taking the receipt. Using Marty, he locates the girl in her London Hotel room as Randall becomes increasingly suspicious. Whilst there he is overpowered by her boyfriend who turns out to be the disloyal henchmen and he discovers that what he was really after was a stolen an extremely rare and valuable postage stamp which was masked in the receipt by a newer stamp.

The duo escape leaving Jeff unconscious, and are again tracked by the ghost Marty as they escape by car. However whilst in their car it turns out the pretty blonde also double-crosses her boyfriend, pretending there is a problem with the rear wheel. As he stops and checks, his supposed girlfriend leaves him in the lurch with the valuable postage stamp. Marty is able to give Jeff and the police the radio number and they contact her in the car but the runaway female thief leaves it off the hook as they keep ringing. In doing so, Marty is able to speak to Jeff by phone and tell them exactly where she is going. Eventually she attempts to leave the country at an airfield, and is stopped by the police as Marty blows away her plane as she attempts to enter it.

Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Episode Eighteen: Could You Recognise the Man Again?

"Could You Recognise the Man Again?" was the eighteenth episode of the classic 1969 ITC televisoin series, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) starring Mike Pratt, Kenneth Cope and Annette Andre. The episode was first broadcast on 16 January 1970 on the ITV Network and was Directed by Jeremy Summers.

When Jeff and Jeannie find a dead body in their car unknown to them at the time that the man they met outside was a killer, Jeannie is held hostage to keep Randall from confessing to the police and giving a testimony in court. Jeff is beaten up quite violently in this episode by the gang leader's and killer's henchmen (brothers) to keep quiet about the murder. Seeing that Randall is tougher than they thought, they hold Jeannie unbeknownst to them in the flat above Jeannie's and is only discovered in the last minute by Marty's powers of concentration.

In this episode Jeannie is on the verge of being raped by a nasty looking henchman (above)of the killer. The culprits are a family and his mother and brother are also part of the gang. He finds an excuse to get them to leave and attempts to thrust himself on the attractive Jeannie, with Jeannie showing more resilience than normal throwing a vase hard at his curly head.

Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Episode Seventeen - Somebody Just Walked Over My Grave!

Somebody Just Walked Over My Grave was the seventeenth episode of the classic 1969 ITC British television series, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) starring Mike Pratt, Kenneth Cope and Annette Andre. The episode was first broadcast on 9 January 1970 on ITV and was Directed by Cyril Frankel.

Marty finds somebody digging around his grave. He sends Jeff to investigate the cemetery and in doing so is knocked unconscious several times by a masked 18th century axe wielder. Telling Jeannie of his experiences and visiting a doctor (Cyril Shaps) to treat his wounds concerned it may have affected his judgement, Jeff unintentionally manages to convince the doctor he is a madman and contacts the Police as he escapes. Lying low and suspecting the gardener at the cemetery anyway, Jeff accepts a job with Mandrake, the wealthy owner in the nearby mansion, and stumbles on an intricate plot to steal his insane agoraphobic son through an underground tunnel pretending to hold him to ransom. It is all part of a plot to inherit his father's fortune but when he marries his young housekeeper the plan is demised.

In this episode Marty also departs Jeff and travels to Germany to watch a football match between Germany and England. Watching from inside the commentary box (also housing the commentator, Fawlty Towers' Andrew Sachs) he learns that he is able to control the game and blows a ball over the cross bar and a German player shoots at an open goal. Mandrake's mad hippie son Harry also brings up some issues, parodying cannabis smoking of the era and suffering from agoraphobia. His extreme hair and his obsession for indoor paint throwing is also of amusing note.

Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Episode Sixteen: When the Spirit Moves You!

"When the Spirit Moves You" is the sixteenth episode of the classic 1969 ITC British Television Series, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) starring Mike Pratt, Kenneth Cope & Annette Andre. This episode was first broadcast on 2 January 1970 on ITV and was Directed by Robert Tronson.

Jeff becomes involved with a bumbling alcoholic conman named Bream and a stash of $125,000 of stolen bonds from the United States that a criminal racket are after. Jeff goes ahead with a deal to exchange the bonds that he and Bream have for $125,000 of the criminal racket's cash. When Jeff and Bream manage to double cross them they turn the tables and come within seconds of blowing up Jeff with the safe that he deposited the money in.

In this episode Marty finds that he is able to communicate with the alcoholic conman Bream (Anton Rodgers) but only when he is very drunk from whisky. This is also one of the first episodes where Marty physically threatens to haunt somebody as a traditional ghost would, to force him to give Jeff a helping hand.

Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Episode Fifteen - The Man From Nowhere!

The Man from Nowhere is the fifteenth episode of the classic ITC British TV Series, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) starring Mike Pratt, Kenneth Cope and Annette Andre. The episode was first broadcast on 28 December 1969 on ITV and was Directed by Robert Tronson.

A man enters Jeannie's life pretending that he is Marty returned from the dead. As he gradually builds Jeannie's trust with his alarming knowledge of Marty's life, Jeff, suspicious from the beginning (with Marty familiar with the man but unable to recall) finds that he is a runaway member of a gang and has taken Jeannie to the Cotswolds where she and Marty had their honeymoon. Seeming very inquisitive about recalling the details of where they had an accident it turns out the Marty imposter had stashed away a hoard of stolen silver years and years ago and that he was the other driver of the car where they had the accident after he had done it. He turns out that he was misleading Jeannie all along just to help locate his treasure, leaving Jeannie confused as to why he didn't just ask her in two seconds flat.

Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Episode Fourteen: Who Killed Cock Robin?

Who Killed Cock Robin? was the fourteenth episode of the classic ITC Television series, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) that starred Mike Pratt, Kenneth Cope and Annette Andre. The episode was first broadcast on December 21, 1969 on ITV.

In this murder mystery, Jeff Randall is hired by a large estate manager to investigate a series of bird shootings in the manor aviary. While keeping guard of the valuable birds. Each member of the family of the manor is killed off gradually narrowing down the suspects leaving Jeff with the surprising culprit. Randall is nearly killed in an intricate trap, but Marty Hopkirk once again saves the day — very interestingly this time by affecting a paranormal game of letters to spell a cryptic message to Jeannie Hopkirk at a party.

Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Episode Thirteen: But What A Sweet Little Room

"But What a Sweet Little Room" is the thirteenth episode of the classic ITC series, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) that starred Mike Pratt, Kenneth Cope and Annette Andre. The episode was first broadcast on 14 December 1969 on ITV and was Directed by Roy Ward Baker.

Jeff investigates the disappearance of a wealthy young woman's aunt. When she too is killed he is led to the regular meetings of a medium, Madame Hanska, and uses Jeannie as a decoy to foil a thieving operation in which a gang of three middle class men murder and rob rich middle aged widows by taking them on an apparently innocent excursion to a cottage in the county.

In this episode Marty contacts a phony psychic medium who claims to be able to contact the dead husbands and wives of well heeled middle aged widows and widowers. To the fake medium's extreme surprise he is then able to materialise as a ghost in front of her (the first real ghost she has ever seen in her long career) and gets her to confess to receiving money from the gang of three middle class men in return for setting up seances at which they target wealthy widows and lure them to their deaths. She shows a genuine sense of fear and remorse over her wrong-doing when confronted by Marty the ghost.

This is a particularly macabre episode (very different from the almost slapstick comedic atmosphere of The Ghost of Monte Carlo) with the sudden unexpected grisly death of the widow in and air-tight toom, initially masquerading as a delightful cottage drawing room or study (the room that gives its name to the episode title), shown in graphic detail at the start of the program. Only later on in the episode does it become clear why such a bizarre and elaborate means of murdering the widows has been constructed by the script writers when Jeff is also nearly gassed to death in the same room only to be saved at the last moment with Marty's usual spiritual assistance.

Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Episode Twelve: For The Girl Who Has Everything

For the Girl who Has Everything is the twelfth episode of the classic 1969 ITC Series, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) starring Mike Pratt, Kenneth Cope and Annette Andre. The episode was first broadcast on 6 December 1969 on ITV. The episode was Directed by Ray Austin.

Ghost hunter James McAllister asks for Jeff's help, having been hired by wealthy American Kim Wentworth to see if her home, Crake Castle, is haunted. McAllister is killed and it looks as if Kim's husband is the murderer, trying to frighten Kim away so that he can marry girlfriend Laura but it would seem that the butler did it and the butler and Kim are the killers, anxious to run off together. Jeff is their prisoner but fortunately Marty has found a local lady who can see and hear him - in order for him to effect a rescue.
